Why Deprive Yourself of Your Favorite Foods and Put Your Body Through Hell?

Day Nine of my kickstart to greater health and wellness.

People are drawn to health and wellness challenges for a variety of reasons. Some may want to lose weight. Others may be interested in learning more about the practices explored. Me? I wanted to find out whether I could connect with myself on a deeper level, to achieve a greater sense of peace.

As the end of this 10-day experience approaches, we were challenged to write down three ways in which we felt better since we began. In other words, what changes have I noticed since committing to practices of unprocessed foods, water, yoga, stillness, body listening, gratitude, and mantra?

With so many answers competing in my head, I loved the idea of trying to narrow in on three. And committing those feelings to pen and paper (or a keyboard) is a great way to solidify them. Without too much deliberation, I settled on: 1) Lots more energy; 2) A bit more balance; and 3) Endless optimism.

I feel more energetic.
